"I Care for Eye Care": Seeing is Believing

One of the most popular Children's Eye Foundation programs is the "I Care for Eye Care" Calendar, where children around the world submit their vision of eye care. In 2009 we asked for participants to submit photos for consideration in the contest and we had an overwhelming response. Over 600 photos were submitted and over 3 million votes were cast. The top twelve vote recipients received a camera and twelve entries were chosen to develop the 2010 I Care for Eye Care Calendar.

The theme for the 2010 contes is "Seeing is Believing" and we ask that participants submit images that reflect what the theme means to them. This year the top twelve vote recipients will receive a digital camera and a panel of judges will choose entries to be used in the development of a calendar. The top vote receiving entries may or may not be used to develop the 2011 calendar.

For the contest this year, we have made a few key changes that are important to note, including:

  • Entries can only receive one vote from the same person in a 24-hour period of time. If it is determined that an entry is receiving multiple votes from the same IP address within a 24-hour period of time, the entry will be subject to removal.
  • Winners from last year, those that received a camera, are eligible to participate in the contest but not eligible to receive another prize.
  • Entries are subject to removal at any time without notice.
  • Each person is allowed one submission, if you would like to submit more than one entry, please contact us for the cost.
