Remembering Dr. Michael Redmond
After learning of his passing on June 20, 2011, the Children's Eye Foundation remembers Dr. Michael Redmond and his significant contributions to pediatric ophthalmology.
Dr. Redmond was recognized in May of this year with the Outstanding Advocate Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and was awarded the Parks Bronze Medal by the Children’s Eye Foundation in recognition of his more than 30 years of dedication to ophthalmology and the patients he served.
"The most rewarding aspect of his work has been helping kids see" Dr. Redmond said, "If you take a 70 year old and give that person better sight for ten years, that's a good thing; if you take a five year old and give that child 80 years of vision, I think you've done something extra."
The Redmond family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Children’s Eye Foundation. Donations in memory Dr. Redmond can be made here.
