Programs

Outreach

  • Ambassadors - The Ambassadors Program was developed to provide an opportunity for parents and children to show their gratitude and help raise awareness about the need for early detection and treatment of eye disorders in children.

Research

  • Adult Strabismus - The goal of this program is to educate health care professionals and the general public about strabismus in adults.
  • Children's Brain Development Institute (CBDI) - This project examines the linkage between visual function and cognitive performance in an effort to understand amblyopia and strabismus as the eye-brain disorders they are.
  • Outcomes Database for Pediatric Opthalmology - Dr. Marshall Parks, a recognized founder of Pediatric Opthalmology was a visionary. For over fifty years he saw patients and kept their treatment records on notecards. We have inherited these notecards and are building an outcomes database

Implementation

  • See by Three - See by Three advocates the screening of children so they may "see by three," and demonstrates that this screening can be performed in the medical homehome.
  • Amblyopia 411 - Hearing that your child has amblyopia is a frightening thing. Amblyopia 411 assists parents by providing information about what to expect before, during and after treatment.
