Keeping Your Eyes Safe in the Sun!
Summer is in full swing! At The Children’s Eye Foundation, we hope you are all having a great time enjoying the sunshine and maybe even a dip in the pool or a day at the beach!
And we’ve all come to learn about the dangers to our skin from the sun, but it is equally important to remember to take care of our eyes when exposed to UV light. For children this is especially important as many eye related diseases caused from such exposure can take years to show up, including cataract, corneal sunburn, growths on the eye and cancer.
To keep eyes healthy, tips include wearing a wide-brimmed hat as well as making sure sunglasses are UV-blocking.
