All Children See

Many children in the U.S. have unmet vision care needs. The consequences of delaying treatment for visual impairment can be permanent—and in some cases, lead to vision loss. A free eye test by an ophthalmologist—more commonly known as an eye doctor, could help.

All Children See (ACS), a public service program of the Children’s Eye Foundation of AAPOS, matches patients with qualified ophthalmologists that provide free eye exams and care to children who have failed a vision screening or have other concerning eye conditions. ACS also partners with other organizations to provide additional no-cost support and resources such as eyeglasses and patching.

To qualify as an All Children See patient, a child must:

  • Be under the age of 18
  • Be a legal citizen/resident of the U.S.
  • Have failed an eye screening, be unable to complete a vision screening, or have an eye concern
  • Be uninsured or financially unable to pay a co-pay

Currently, ACS offers free eye exams in the following areas: Washington, DC, Virginia, Maryland, New Hampshire, Indiana and Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX.  If you live outside the program service areas, or do not qualify for the ACS program but still require care from an ophthalmologist you can find a doctor near you. Please note that a visit with an eye doctor unaffiliated with the ACS program will not include free eye care.

Founded in 2020, ACS was designed as a pathway to provide free eye exams for children 18 and under regardless of socioeconomic circumstances.
