Dr. Oscar Cruz is the Anwar Shah Endowed Chair and Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He is past president of the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO).
Oscar Cruz is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine. After his residency at the Cullen Eye Institute, he completed a pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute under John T. Flynn, M.D.
His practice focus is pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. He has served as Chairman at Saint Louis University since April 2000.
