Dr. Yasmin Bradfield is a faculty member and Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Madison-Wisconsin. She is a nationally recognized pediatric glaucoma expert and conducts clinical research in glaucoma imaging at the University of Wisconsin. She holds the John W. Doolittle Professorship and is Co-Chair of Global Ophthalmology Initiatives at the University of Wisconsin. She was elected to the AAPOS Board of Directors in July 2020.

Dr. Bradfield earned her medical degree at Northwestern University in Chicago, completed an ophthalmology residency at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, and a pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus fellowship at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. 

Dr. Bradfield has participated in leadership roles for the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS), American Academy of Ophthalmology, and is actively involved in the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group.  She received the AAPOS Honor Award in 2015. She served as Associate Editor for the journal Archives of Ophthalmology as well as Department Vice Chair for Education and Faculty Development.  She has mentored numerous national and international fellows in pediatric ophthalmology, and is a leader in faculty development at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
